Honeybuns bakery’s new gluten free flapjacks

Recently I ordered another box of honeybuns gluten free treats. I was pleased to see that the new flapjacks were available to order, so I added a couple to my selection.

My parcel from Honeybuns bakery arrived very quickly, I divided the cakes and put half of them in the freezer. they freeze very well!

I was very excited to try the new gluten free flapjack. The flapjack was surprising soft which I loved, with a delicious flavour . A very indulgent treat. I remember eating flapjacks in my gluten eating days and them often being quite over baked and chewy.

I will definitely be ordering them again soon.

This means that the Honeybuns bakery is now 100% gluten free, very reassuring!

I now cannot wait to try the cake mixes. Watch this space, review coming soon.

Our new Norfolk garden

Earlier this year Samantha Mckay a local Norfolk garden designer and her team headed up by Trevor, started work on our garden in Norfolk.

It really was a blank canvas!

First a new patio area went done, followed by a base for the pavilion.

We had asked Sam to design a country/coastal garden that was easy to maintain as we would not be at the house all the time. We wanted to include a boardwalk and some curves. We also needed to lose some of the lawn as we were spending most weekends cutting it in the summer.

The Crown pavilion was then erected and the canvas covers were added.

Next Sam planted all the beautiful flowers, trees and grasses. She gave us a book showing all our new plants with a guide to show us how to care for them.

Already the plants are really starting to take shape, thanks to the recent rain and lovely sunny days.

We look forward to spending long hot summer days admiring our new garden in Norfolk.

Many thanks to Samantha for designing such a lovely garden, and to Crown pavilions for our new outside room. We have already eaten many meals alfresco. A perfect place to entertain friends and family, or just curl up with a good book.

New vintage tea shop for Dorking with gluten free treats

Today I popped into a new tea shop called Gorgeous Gerties in West street, Dorking.

Image

A road famous in the area for having many antique and vintage shops including my favourite The Corner house. Gerties is not just a vintage tearoom but an olde worlde sweet shop, workshop and a mix of independent retailers with little areas on 2 floors selling beautiful handmade bunting, cushions pretty jewellery, small pieces of vintage furniture and crockery etc.

I normally feel a little sad when I pass Tea rooms as I can see all the delicious looking cakes on show and know that I can’t have any of them as I am gluten intolerant. But today when I popped in, there was a pretty vintage cake stand filled with a lovely selection of gluten free cake,I was so happy!  Some I recognised as Honeybuns bakery cakes and biscuits and some new ones too. I’m very much looking forward to trying them, as I have not seen them before.

The tea shop was very buzzy as it was the end of school time. One family were having afternoon tea and had a vintage stand full of very delicious teatime treats. You can have afternoon tea from 2pm _4pm priced at £9.95 per person.

I can’t wait to pop in for tea and gluten free cake very soon!
